Tess And Max: French Brittany Spaniels {Arizona Pet photography}

A few months ago I photographed  Kady, an American Brittany Spaniel.   Tess and Max are a cousin breed to her.

I love their dark coloring and brown eyes, it is such a striking contrast.

Tess is mother of Max and they have a special friendship.

They both love the water and spend much of their Arizona summer getting in and out of the pool.

Max freaks me out a little sometimes because I feel like he has four eyes staring at me.  I think he feels the same about me.

Tess is such a sweet friend who overcame her fear of the camera to nuzzle my hand.  I so love her blue speckled freckled body.

I am loving the dogs this summer.  Thanks!

Of snakes, guitars, singing and Pianos {Arizona Senior Photographer}

I spend my life trying to avoid snakes.

This recent High School graduate spends his life trying to find and photograph them.

Jeffrey calls it “herping” and I want to call it crazy.

In our discussions we decided that when he buys his next lens that it is probably best for him NOT to buy a NON zoom lens.  I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say, the longer the zoom the better!   I must also say, that I have never felt more safe in the summer desert than when I was with him.

Thankfully he is still my friend even after I admitted to him that I purposefully ran over (several times) what I thought was a black coiled snake but turned out to be an already very dead cell phone charging cord.

Here is his blog where he records his finds www.jeffsherps.blogspot.com

Besides being a reptile lover, he loves music.  The guitar in this session is just one of 9.  I think he is going to have music where ever he goes!

Jeffrey shared a session with his good friend, Alexa Dyan.  (If you are interested, ask me about a shared session, it is a bit cheaper.)

She has a quiet soft smile and a quiet soft voice but behind all that quiet beauty is a very talented musician, seamstress and a girl who loves children.

Her instruments of choice?  Her voice, piano and guitar.  If your children need piano lessons, I can hook you up with her number!

Alexa Dyan, you are AWESOME!

Thanks Jeffery and Alex Dyan for cool and awesome photo shoot in the heat of the Arizona desert.

I would also like to thank the snakes from hiding from Jeffrey during the photo shoot!

(The caption on this should go something like this—“I washed my paws, can I touch the puppy now?”

If I had something this cute running around my house, I wouldn’t get ANYthing done!

You’ve stolen my heart Miss Ellie Mae.  And Ginger is right there with you!

Just a Little

Just a little past 7 months.

Just a little sister.

Just a little bit mobile.

Just a little bit spoiled.

Just the best little thing that has happened in her family!

The yellow Signs of Summer 2012

Shortly before the dragon’s breath reaches the desert valley floor, there are a few natural indicators that summer is nearly here.  The Sweet Acacia and the Palo Verde are just two of them.

Once we smell the deliciously fragrant yellow blossom balls of  the Sweet Acacia, it is certain that summer is only weeks away.  It will forever remind me of the hot August day that we moved here from the Rocky Mountains.

The color of the green skinned Palo Verde with brilliant yellow flowers is so naturally saturated against the contrasting blue sky that my visual sensors are almost overwhelmed.   A breezy day turns into a snowfall of sun colored blossoms.

And now the natural indicators, the dragon’s breath and the air conditioner have all indicated that summer is here.

American Brittany. Beautiful. {Arizona Pet Photographer}

Meet 7 year old American Brittany, Kadie.

She is my new favorite Ginger.  I love saying Ginger.  I say it in a British accent—Jinja.

“Hey, did you see that lively jinja on a walk?”

“Come here little jinja, can I pet you for a year?”

“Your jinja fur matches your brown eyes.”

Jinja, jinja, jinja.

Ok.  I am done now.

Kadie responds to “lizard,” “cookie” and “watch” and has THE softest fur.  She is a great hiking companion and LOVES to be outside.

I think she gets her sweetness from her owners.  Love you guys!

And, I love you Jinja Kadie.

Got noticed.

Here (brothers and bug)

and here (banana).

The only thing better than the satisfaction I get from taking and enjoying pictures, is finding others who enjoy them too.

I really love the great information I have gotten from I Heart Faces and Pioneer Woman.  They helped me learn how to be a photographer, because 3 1/2 years ago, I knew NOTHING about DSLRs.  If you are looking for simple and easy to understand tutorials on  photography, those two places are my favs.

Happy picture taking!
